It’s hard to believe that Vblank Entertainment’s Retro City Rampage is around 3 years old at this point. The retro 8-bit style, crime action game-inspired title did quite well across all the platforms it was released and re-released on, so it’s not a surprise that a sequel is finally emerging from the shadows.
Brian Provinciano, the game’s creator/programmer/designer, has officially revealed the sequel: Shakedown Hawaii for the PS4 and PS Vita (via the PlayStation Blog). The setting is obviously a bit more tropical as you would infer from the title, and the visuals and audio have graduated to a retro 16-bit style with “destructible environments”, new weapons and more.
