PSN PLAY 2012 event kicks off on July 31st with The Expendables 2

The second annual PSN PLAY event is kicking off beginning on July 31st, and for those planning on picking up some of the summer PSN titles for the PS3 and PS Vita, here’s your chance to potentially save a few dollars.

The line-up sounds like a pretty interesting one that is starting off with a bang with The Expendables 2 Videogame on 7/31. The next week is Sound Shapes, then Papo & Yo and finally Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The deal is, buy 2 of the PSN PLAY games and get $3 back, buy 3 games and get $6 back, or buy all $4 PSN PLAY games and receive $10, basically making one of the games free. PS Plus subscribers also save 20% off of each game, making it an even better deal.

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC. (SCEA) today announced that PSN PLAY, its annual summer program showcasing a diverse lineup of great PlayStation games and special offers, returns on July 24 when the PLAY lineup becomes available for pre-order on PlayStation Network in the PlayStation Store in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The four-game PLAY lineup, available starting July 24, offers gamers who purchase two titles or more a bonus cash voucher for use on PlayStation Network. Gamers who buy games during the pre-order period will receive an exclusive PS3 XMB theme based on each game purchased. Additionally, members of PlayStation Plus, PlayStation?s premium game membership, can purchase the PLAY titles at a 20% discount for introduced limited time.

Gamers can take advantage of the following bonuses based on their purchases of PSN PLAY games in the PlayStation Store(July 24 – August 28):

  • Buy any 4 PSN PLAY games to get $10
  • Buy any 3 PSN PLAY games to get $6
  • Buy any 2 PSN PLAY games to get $3
