Too much cheese didn’t hinder critics and players’ enjoyment of Mouse: P.I. For Hire

Mouse: P.I. For Hire has been stalking the streets of Mouseburg for a little under two weeks and it seems like the denizens have nothing but nice things to say about this black and white rubber hose animation inspired first person shooter. In a newly released accolades trailer, Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios shared the thoughts of their newly released title from outlets such as PC Gamer, Destructoid, Gaming Bolt and more.

Praise such as “Bursting with personality”, “Reminds you why indie games are worth paying attention to” and if you need something punny, “A cheese worth taking a bite of” are being showered on this world filled with 20s inspired bipedal rodents. The title’s current 81 Metacritic score puts it firmly within the top 50 best titles released in 2026 and hopefully it will be on the minds of plenty of publications when their Game of the Year discussions kick off towards the end of this calendar year.

Mouse: P.I. for Hire is available now on PC, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5
