Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie teaser trailer is live

Zach Cregger, who has recently received acclaim for his award-winning motion picture Weapons, and is also known for the very freaky Barbarian before that, is hard at work on the new Resident Evil movie.

Simply titled Resident Evil the reboot hits theaters and IMAX on September 18th, 2026, but today Sony Pictures Entertainment dropped the first teaser trailer for the flick… and we’re liking what we see.   For better or for worse the new movie features an all-new story and characters, so it’s not a retelling of any particular game plot or anything, though we’re excited to see where it takes us.

Check it out below and stay tuned for more.

RESIDENT EVIL – Official Teaser Trailer (4K)

A new era of evil.

From the mind of Zach Cregger, director of Weapons and Barbarian. Watch the new teaser trailer for Resident Evil. Filmed for IMAX – in theatres 9.18.

From the mind of visionary filmmaker Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) comes a thrilling — and terrifying — reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise. In an all-new story, Resident Evil follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.

From Columbia Pictures and Constantin Film, in association with TriStar Pictures, Resident Evil hits theatres September 18, 2026.
