Mouse: P.I. For Hire releases a new talkie ahead of its April 16th launch

I feel like the rubber hose animation owes Cuphead for its resurgence in this century, but hey for all we know it could just be parallel thinking which spurred Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios to create Mouse P.I. For Hire. Well we won’t have to wait much longer to take the role of Jack Pepper, a private investigator working the black and white streets of Mouseberg.

The studio just released a launch trailer showcasing what players can expect and apparently it’s a lot of guns, the firearms kind and the “arms” kind. When I’m not distracted by the dulcet tones of Troy Baker, I’m eyeballing a gritty world where danger is around every corner, clues can be found only if you have a sharp eye…and baseball cards are a pathway to relaxation.

While April 16th is just a mere week away, players still have time to secure physical versions of the game. Which includes a Standard Edition which will cost $29.99 for the PS5 edition and $39.99 for the Switch 2 version. Those with a couple more bucks to spend can grab the Mouseberg Edition which will feature a 7” vinyl record, double sided poster, baseball cards and postcard. This premium edition will cost $49.99 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and $59.99 for the Switch 2…it feels like quite the steal (even if you have to wait til July to get your hands on it)!

Mouse: P.I. For Hire will take this gig when it comes out on PC, Xbox Series X, PS5 and the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 14th, 2026.
