Agent 64: Spies Never Die really invokes a certain RARE classic when it hits PCs on Aug 11th

People of a certain age will romanticize spending days and nights awkwardly holding a N64 controller as duked it out against 3 other friends in a first person shooter based on a certain fictional British spy. Well if that sentence describes you perhaps you’ll take up the mission to experience the adventures of John Walter, the titular Agent 64 in Replicant D6’s solo effort Agent 64: Spies Never Die.

Inspired by Goldeneye and shooters of its ilk, Agent 64 will take you on a 14 mission campaign in which Agent 64 has to stop the machinations of the diabolical Dominic Pulp. How you tackle these missions will be up to you as you will have access to an array of weaponry to the pedestrian pistol, to something more out there like plasma rifles.

If you happen to still have friends who you never fell out of touch with, you can recreate those nostalgic days and nights with the game’s multiplayer modes which offers the classic 4 player splitscreen option or the more contemporary 8 player online mode where you can duke it out in your traditional deathmatch, kill of the hill or briefcase mode where players vie to hang onto the titular brief case as long as they can before the play session expires.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die really wants to invoke games of yore where what you paid for is what you get, no DLC, where skill and persistence will unlock everything the game has to offer. The title is set to release on PC on August 11th with a console release sometime in the near future.
