PS4 sales top 5.9 million units during the holiday season

Sony took some time out of their day to announce yet another PlayStation 4 sales milestone for 2017.  Worldwide, the PS4 sold through to consumers 5.9 million units from around 11/20/2017 to 12/31/2017.  That’s pretty great!

Other figures include a cumulative PS4 console sell through of 73.6 million units worldwide; software sales of 55.9 million games during the holiday season (retail and download) which puts cumulative total at around 645 million copies.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today announced robust sales for PlayStation 4 (PS4) computer entertainment system and its software titles during this holiday season.

  • PS4 has sold through to consumers more than 5.9 million units*1 during the 2017 holiday season.
  • PS4 has now cumulatively sold through more than 73.6 million units*2 globally as of December 31, 2017.
  • More than 55.9 million*3 PS4 games were sold during the 2017 holiday season in retail stores worldwide and through digital downloads on PlayStation Store. This totals up to 645.0 million copies*4 cumulatively sold as of December 31, 2017.

The PS4 system is currently available in 127 countries and regions*6 worldwide.
