Viz Media makes their presence felt at Anime NYC with plenty of news and programming

It wouldn’t be a good anime convention without the presence of one of the biggest names in anime and manga! Viz Media, the company which helped shepherd franchises such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach and many more to the West making sure Anime NYC will have plenty of things to do during New York City’s biggest anime convention.

The publisher has a booth on the exhibition hall at booth 621 where the company is celebrating its 40th anniversary with giveaways such as blindly packed photo cards featuring franchises such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, One Punch Man, Naruto and more! Fans can also get early access to the company products at the Viz Media store, where purchases come with a free tote bag.

  • Tsuyoshi Takaki, the creator of Black Torch shared what his inspiration was in creating the series as well as participated in a live drawing session.
  • For Bleach fans, the panel was packed to the brim with announcements.
    • As the episodes featuring the clash between Kisuke Urahara and Askin Nakk Le Vaar in BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, voice actors Wendee Lee (Yoruichi Shihoin) and Doug Erholtz (Kisuke Urahara) regaled the crowd with re-enactments of some of the scenes which can be viewed on Hulu and Disney+ where BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity can be streamed.
    • Goods featuring BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War will be coming to the Round1 USA entertainment centers starting on September 10th
    • Finally if you are in the market for a computer and you want to show your love for Bleach, Viz revealed that they are working with Starforge Systems to produce a custom collection featuring BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War which includes items such as PC, PC case, mouse pads, acrylic wall art and Platelights.

For those who wanted more from Wendee Lee, Doug Erholtz as well as Tsuyoshi Takaki, the former pair were featured in a BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Panel and the latter will be taking part in a panel tomorrow with editor Shihei Lin.
