The PlayStation launched in North America 20 years ago today

U R NOT e

Ahhh… we can almost remember the 9/9/95 launch of the original PlayStation like it was yesterday.  The memorable startup jingle, the crisp CD audio and “high quality” full motion video… and the impressive, juddery shaded polygons of course. “Riiiidddge Racer!” Is still burned in our collective memories. And back then, we actually called it a PSX.

To officially celebrate the North American PlayStation’s anniversary, the PS Blog of course has put together a love letter of the launch which happened exactly 20 years ago on this date, so of course make sure to check it out.
