The game’s latest update dubbed “Patch 2.5” brings a feature which should appease critics. Ranked Mode 1.0 will finally let you take on all comes from the four nations all the while earning a badge which will show those challengers whether or not you’re a force to be reckoned with.
Additional changes include some that are exclusive to the PlayStation 5 version of the title such as improvements on controller latency, a low latency mode and matchmaking fixes. Steam players will now have the option to upgrade to the deluxe version of the game which will grant them the game’s Year 1 pass which will add Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and the winner of the year 1 character vote as well as the a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack and artbook.
The game also held a panel at PAX West this past weekend where devs gave fans a tease of Tagah (Who debuted in the animated film The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender), updates to the Ba Sing Se stage as well as what’s to come from the game’s Patch 3. If you want to wish to watch the panel, it has been archived on the Avatar Fighters Twitch Channel.
So while some might doubt the Avatar, I’d advise against betting against the master of all four elements. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has a solid foundation and if Gameplay Group International has their way when the dust has settled, it will hopefully rank amongst one of the best fighting games out there.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
