Sokka shows you don’t need the elements to whoop ass in this brand new trailer for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game

As someone who was a fan of the Avatar franchise, I was certainly disappointed when one of the core cast members of The Last Airbender was barely mentioned in The Legend of Korra. Yes, Aang had to die in order for LoK to happen, but everyone’s favorite non-bender, Sokka, was pretty much a non-presence. Thankfully the upcoming fighting game from Gameplay Group International Inc doesn’t disrespect the oldest son of the Southern Water Tribe’s chief as they definitely made him a force to be reckoned with in this latest trailer.

Armed with his club and the meteor sword that he forged under the swordmaster, Piandao, Sokka will definitely put the hurt on anyone who tries to get close and personal. However it’s the boomerang which makes him a serious threat. He can throw it at multiple angles and as a boomerang will do it will fly back to him and will certainly bruise an inattentive opponent. While it’s not shown in the trailer, Sokka’s choice of backup character greatly changes his moveset. Having Yue will allow you to recall your boomerang at will, Suki will provide “motivation” with a kiss which will cause Sokka to go into a frenzy state and with his swords master Piandao watching his back every successful strike with his sword will increase its impact to the point where one slash could ultimately end the fight!

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will unite the four nations when it arrives onto PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and the Switch platform on July 2nd, 2026
