Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters gets a Super Action Soccer story trailer just in time for the World Cup

Bandai Namco’s upcoming “Super Action Soccer” title, Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters (which has nothing to do with the actual FIFA World Cup), is on the receiving end of a new story trailer which shows off a bit of that new soccer drama based on the popular Japanese manga and anime series.

These soccer battles follow soccer star Tsubasa Ozora and his team’s journey through the World Youth Championship as they take on teams and players from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden and the Netherlands.  Check out the story trailer for some of what to expect along with some screens too.

In CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS, players will follow Tsubasa Ozora and his team through the qualifying round before advancing to the highly contested World Youth Championship. Challenge powerful opponents in the qualifying round, including Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and China, where strength and technical precision will be put to the test in thrilling clashes of soccer strategy. Each victory will be essential, as Japan will fight to secure its place among the world stage. Based on the long-running anime and manga series, the action on the field in CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS has been significantly enhanced for this new release. The Super Action Soccer gameplay chains together spectacular plays to create unforgettable matches and action-packed sequences, allowing players to dominate the field when they pass, dribble, tackle or block with their own special techniques. Even blocking goal shots becomes more tactical with a new system that pits goalkeeper against shooter, letting both players experience and counter jaw dropping super shots and blocks from characters of the original series.
