As part of the monthly cadence of character releases, a familiar character will be returning after a nearly 34 year absence from the Fatal Fury timeline (Any appearances outside of Fatal Fury 2 has been in non-canonical entries (i.e. Fatal Fury Special) or alternate timelines (i.e. The King of Fighters)). Wolfgang Krauser, who was once believed to have died after his encounter with Terry Bogard in Stroheim Castle, will be making his presence felt, although what he is after is really anyone’s guess. Could he be seeking revenge against the man who bested him nearly three decades ago or is he finally stepping in to fill the vacuum in the Southtown’s underworld by his deceased (yes, this one seems to be sticking for now) half-brother Geese Howard. Find out in the arcade mode or the Episodes of South Town mode.
In addition to the release of Krauser, April 24th will see a free title update, details of which will be revealed in a special live stream set to air on April 23rd, when the team is looking to celebrate the game’s 1st anniversary. Hosted by the Takashi Kondo (JP VA for Terry Bogard) and Chika Anzai (JP VA for Preecha), fans can expect a retrospective of the game’s first year, dev messages, comments from top players in the esports scenes as well as the aforementioned details of the major update set to release on April 24th.
If you haven’t set foot Southtown, there’s no better time as the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Legend Edition will get you squared away will everything the game has to offer as well as the two additional characters that will be released in the next two months (TBA and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star). This digital only bundle will retail for $49.99 and given the 2nd season pass costs $19.99, that means the base title and first season are now down to $29.99 which is a tremendous value in itself.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation platform.
