Shinobi: Art of Vengeance goes hardcore as new villains arrive onto the scene

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance tested the mettle of many players last August. But for those who reached the pinnacle, developer Lizardcube just stepped in and pointed to a new peak for these ninja masters to summit. Timed with the release of the SEGA Villains Stage DLC, this free update is set to add a new difficulty “Hardcore”, tweaks the combat system and adds some miscellaneous quality of life additions.

Speaking of the SEGA Villains Stage DLC, the add-on which will introduce Death Adder, Dr. Eggman and Goro Majima as boss encounters are available now. In addition to promising epic clashes with these iconic villains (and technically one anti-hero), the DLC will add five new stages, two new boss rush modes, three new ninpo, three new outfits and six new music tracks. Owners of the deluxe version of the game will be able to download the pack free of charge, base game owners can update to the deluxe version via a paid upgrade or pick up the DLC as a standalone purchase.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is available now on PC, Switch, the Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
