No FGPA, no emulation, The NEOGEO AES is back thanks to PLAION REPLAI!

Ok… this one came out of nowhere. The NEOGEO AES (This is the home version and not the arcade version, that’s the MVS) is back thanks to the team at PLAION. The NEOGEO AES+ is not a micro console, but purported a 1:1 replication of the NEOGEO hardware via the use of ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits), this means if you own original AES cartridges, you can hypothetically use it on the AES+.

However if you don’t own original AES carts, Plaion will be offering a line up of 10 titles  for sale at the price of $89.99. While this seems pricey, it is a fraction of what the original versions are going for in the market.

The list of titles includes:

  • Metal Slug
  • The King of Fighters 2002
  • Garou: Mark of the Wolves
  • Big Tournament Golf
  • Shock Troopers
  • Samurai Shodown V Special
  • Pulstar
  • Twinkle Star Sprites
  • Magician Lord
  • Over Top

The console is set to ship starting November 12th, 2026 and those looking to secure their units can do so at the Plaion Replai website or at this product page on Amazon.
