“Watching” these video game showcases usually involve my face staring at my computer screen furiously typing regarding the announcements that have been made. However during this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, when Offspring’s All I Want suddenly played, I turned my head towards my TV that I might’ve given myself whiplash.
SEGA teased the revival of their dormant franchises within their catalogue in 2023 with this trailer and we’ve seen one release in the form of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. Well now we have a second title from this initiative confirmed in the form of Crazy Taxi: World Tour.
The publisher managed to get one of the creators of the original title, Kenji Kanno on board, as well as an Offspring song (Is Bad Religion playing hard to get? Only time will tell!). What we know is Axel will be sent on a globetrotting adventure to recover his cab, but he’ll certainly take some fares and ferry some folks to their requested destinations. Crazy Taxi: World Tour promises the following features:
- New maps and missions – navigate diverse terrain across five unique cities
- Multiplayer modes – play against friends or online competitors around the world
- New vehicles and customization – unlock a wide variety of vehicles and customization options to create your own one-of-a-kind ride
- Classic mode – revisit the thrills of the original games in Arcade Mode
Crazy Taxi: World Tour will turn on its fare light when it is released on PC, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and the Switch 2 sometime in 2027.
Now let’s hope we get some details regarding the next Jet Set Radio and Streets of Rage!
