Persona 4 Revival gets a release date and Persona 6 gets revealed at Xbox Games Showcase

We tend to associate Persona with the PlayStation brand, but as the former got more and more popular it seems they are seeing other people. In fact it’s somewhat surreal that the pair of announcements we got regarding Persona happened at the Xbox Games Showcase rather than Sony’s State of Play livestream.

Regardless it’s a great time to be a Persona fan as ATLUS revealed not only the release date of Persona 4 Revival, the game which can be credited for the franchise’s breakout popularity in the West, as well as a new mainline entry in the series, finally giving Persona 5’s Phantom Thieves the rest they deserve.

Persona 4: Revival’s pre-order trailer confirmed that the title will follow the direction traveled by Persona 3: Reloaded. Character models which mirror Shigenori Soejima’s artstyle, a revamping of the ui as well as plenty and I do mean plenty of vibrant colors. Unfortunately it seems ATLUS will be using a brand new voice cast for the english track, hopefully these new actors can live up to the standards set by the previous cast. The biggest reveal is that the game will be coming on February 18th, 2027.

From supplementary details we received from ATLUS, we learned of the game’s various SKUs as well as details of the game’s pricey Collector’s Edition. On the Digital front, a Deluxe and Premium edition is available alongside the base release. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes Velvet Room outfits for the cast as well as additional personas that can be used in game. The Premium Edition includes everything in the Deluxe Edition as well as adds music from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal.

The physical version of the game will offer character cards if you purchase the title from Amazon and a Collector’s Edition will include the in-game contents of the Digital Premium Edition as well as physical goods such as a Steelbook case, an artbook, keycaps, a keychain and a statue of the Protagonist and Izanagi.

Fans looking to learn more about the title won’t have to wait long as the director of the Persona team Kazuhisa Wada will be hosting a Persona 4 Revival Broadcast Livestream on ATLUS West’s YouTube Channel and Steam on June 18th at 4pm PT/7pm ET.

News of Persona 6’s existence was also revealed although in the form of a teaser. Viewers were treated to some heavily green tinted footage of a very cramped cemetery as the camera pans towards a monument of a headless figure, before a shadow reaches out towards. We get a look at the game’s logo, otherwise nothing of importance is revealed. If you didn’t have the company or game logo, I’d easily declare this as a trailer for something Ghostbusters related. Hopefully we’ll learn more about this latest mainline entry of this much beloved series in the months ahead.

Pre-orders of Persona 4 Revival are now open as the game will have you tuning in on February 18th, 2027 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5.
