Secure your Steam Controller when it goes on sale on May 4th

PC Gaming got a lot easier when digital storefront Valve released its portable PC, the Steam Deck. The device was well received and gamers eagerly awaited the next wave of hardware from the company founded by knife aficionado Gabe Newell. So when the company revealed the Steam Machine, Steam Frame and a brand new Steam Controller, the PC Gaming faithful readied their wallets.

Well today we finally learned that one member of this hotly anticipated trio will finally go on sale next week.

The Steam Controller which isn’t affected by ram pricing/shortages will be available on Steam starting next Monday, May 4th. The controller will retail for $99 USD, but it packs technology which justifies its price point. It utilizes magnetic thumbsticks featuring TMR Technology, which means you will not have to worry about stick drift or mechanical wear and tear. Two trackpads can act as a mouse and add two additional buttons that offer haptic feedback. You can enjoy up to 35 hours of gameplay between charges and keep the battery levels topped off via the USB-C port or the magnetic puck connector that is included with each controller.

The controller will be available directly through Steam in the following regions (US, CA, UK, EU and AU) and via Komodo Station in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
