Get ready to get active Nintendo Switch 2 owners, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is launching soon.  To help train would-be athletes ahead of time, Nintendo has dropped off a new overview trailer for the title.

Just as a reminder, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is launching on October 22nd, 2026 for around $50 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Return to Wuhu Island and dive into new ways to explore, compete and play in the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort game, arriving exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 system Oct. 22!

Get pumped for your journey by watching the latest overview trailer, which reveals new gameplay footage and highlights all the fun that awaits at the resort.

On a sun-drenched island retreat, you and your friends and family1 can compete in various sports, activities and minigames designed to be easy to pick up and play, no matter what your gaming experience level. You can also travel around the island at your leisure and enjoy the sights and hidden surprises in-person or online2 across land, sea and sky!

Before jumping in, you can warm up with a round of Jump Rope! Then, when you’re ready, check out everything the island has to offer …

  • Fun & Games: For those looking to engage in active competition, there are 12 sports to get you up and moving! Engage in a heated fist fight with Boxing, use the Joy-Con 2 motion controls3 to let your arrows fly in Archery and power up your thumbs and pin your opponent in Thumb Wrestling. Play and earn Spocco Points which can be exchanged for character outfits, hairstyles and even sports equipment. If you’re looking for a single-player challenge, get ready to take on top-ranked Island Champions in the new Island Crown Mode.   • Leisurely Exploration: In Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane modes, you can freely explore the island at your own speed — and be sure to keep an eye out for cameras scattered around the island for Spocco Photos, they can give you information on must-see sightseeing spots!
  • Make it Your Own: Nintendo Switch Sports Resort also allows you to customize your Sportsmate with your own personal style, choosing everything from hairstyles and outfits to accessories and body types. You can also create a Mii character on your Nintendo Switch 2 to use in the game or bring over an existing one to join in the fun!
