Bring balance to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as Avatar Aang and Katara join the roster

The Avatar franchise is back in full force with Avatar: Seven Havens premiering on Paramount+, but for those who want some visibility from the first Avatar series you only have to look to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as the young adult iterations of Aang and Katara who debuted in animated film, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender will be joining the game’s multi-IP roster.

On October 18th the Avatar Legends pack will be available for Season Pass holders and for individual purchase. What you will get in the pack which is available for $5.99 is Aang and Katara as racers, the Gliding Air Vehicle (Extreme Gear), the Lion Turtle Island race course as well as a slew of tracks in the game’s in-game jukebox.

After seeing some of the game’s announcements, I truly feel that I backed the wrong horse in the last volley of kart racers. I’m reminded of a very iconic advertising campaign which is “SEGA Does, what Ninten-don’t” and in this instance it’s supporting their arcade-style racing game post release. It will be wild to know that in the upcoming year you can say I’m racing against Sonic, Mega Man, Rei Ayanami and possibly Cloud from Final Fantasy VII.

The Avatar Legends Pack will be made available on October 18th. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now on PC and consoles and the game just received a price drop to commemorate the completion of the game’s first year of content.
