PAX West 2026: 35 Years of Speed – The Sonic Art Exhibit

SEGA has been celebrating plenty of anniversaries for their franchises, but it seems the one they are most focused on might be the 35th birthday of their blue mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. The latest celebration involved teaming up with iam8bit, the 35 Years of Speed: The Sonic Art Exhibit opened the vault and showed the public not only design documentation, but works created by fans.

From September 4th to the 6th from the hours of 11am to 7pm, swing by the 210 Gallery located at 301 Occidental Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104 to take a trip down memory lane and get a glimpse of the art work that eventually lead to some of the finest games released. If you fancy yourself as an art collector, you can even take home replicas or even original pieces of art.

While not everyone will be in the Seattle area this Labor Day weekend, friend of the site Kenneth Miller was generous enough to share some photos that he took when he was attending a press preview of the gallery before it was opened to the public on the fourth.

Please don’t think once the weekend is over that everything will go back into the vault, as LA based Sonic fans will also have their shot at viewing these works in person as an Los Angeles edition of the exhibit will be taking place later this month.
