Originally made public in 2012, the studio’s internal brainstorming event, Amnesia Fortnight allowed studio staff to form small teams to pretty much participate in a game jam. The prototypes would be shared and the most well received would be given more resources in hopes of creating a commercially viable title.
Fresh off their emancipation from Microsoft, Double Fine has kicked off Amnesia Fortnight 2026: Indie Reboot in hopes of finding a title to kick off the company’s newly announced small games publishing label, Double Fine Action Labs.
Utilizing Kickstarter (RIP Fig), the studio is inviting the public to help curate and whittle down this event’s 26 pitches into 4 finalists. Depending on your backing tier, your vote may be worth more than others. In addition to the game jam, 2 Player Productions will be on hand to capture all the action and cut it down into one of their famous documentaries.
So there you have it, after seven years of being under a large corporate entity, Double Fine returns to its roots and they’re looking for your help. Will you answer the call?
Amnesia Fortnight 2026, Indie Reboot is now soliciting pledges on Kickstarter until the end of September. Will this event yield the studio’s next big IP? Only time will time.
Welcome to Amnesia Fortnight 2026, Indie Reboot!
