Pokémon Go might’ve celebrated its 10th anniversary, but the game is already looking forward to its 11th year as it has announced two dates for in-person events in both Asia and the United States.
The Pokémon Go Tour 2027 will be taking place from Friday February 19th until February 21st in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Los Angeles, California, USA. These will be ticketed events in which the game will be offering next experiences themed after the VII generation of Pokémon (Sun and Moon as well as its Ultra Iterations).
So expect tropical vibes as the region which these games take place is none other than Alola where we first started seeing region variants of some of the original 150 Pokémon such as the icy versions of sandshrew, the blond coif’d version of Digtrio and we can’t forget the looooooooooong neck version of Exeggutor. Alolan variants have been in the popular location based AR title since 2018, so it’s likely these tours will serve as a launching ground for more critters from that Pokédex.
However for those who can’t quite make it to the festivities, a global version of the event will take place the following weekend on the 27th and 28th (oh, we’re already hitting another leap year it seems…eh). So there’s no need to experience too much fomo if you’re not living in those cities or have enough disposable income to travel.
Ticketing and further details regarding these events will be revealed during the next season of Pokémon Go, so make sure your calendar is clear on those dates if you’re looking to participate.
