Pokémon GO offers trainers a chance to nab a Mewtwo with max stats to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary

Were you a Pokémon GO trainer who lamented they weren’t connected enough to be invited to the game’s 10th anniversary celebration in Times Square, New York City in July? Did you envy trainers who were able to get a hold of a Mewtwo with Max Stats and a special Times Square Background? Hope you didn’t throw too big a temper tantrum, or paid for an account with that exclusive Pokémon, because the game revealed in a newly released video which thanks players that patience is a virtue.

The video titled “Pokémon GO 10th Anniversary Video | Thank You, Trainers”, follows a young trainer who started playing at launch, sticking with the game and ultimately being one of the thousands of players who were invited to the 10th Anniversary event in Times Square. However the happy ending for everyone occurs at the closing portion of the video where it is revealed all players will be able to catch a special Mewtwo with Max stats and a planet earth background. This opportunity won’t last forever and the opportunity will expire by September 6th. For those who really need a Mewtwo with a Times Square background, it will return sometime in the future.

It should also be noted that those in attendance at Time Square will also get a Mewtwo with the Earth background, but the stats will not be maxed, thus proving no matter how hard you try, you can never catch up to our betters…

Pokémon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
