Back when Braden reviewed Ghost of Yōtei for us, he ended his review by musing about whether we’d be getting any more content for the game at some point in the future. This morning, we got our answer: we are, and it’s coming October 1st.
The big draw is undoubtedly Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, a story expansion that shows off Atsu’s past. The expanded narrative will include a new valley, along with new enemies, new weapons, new armor, and lots of other new goodies.
But that’s not all we’ll be getting in Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. The new version will also have a new survival mode, Most Wanted, where players will get to accept bounties to earn new perks and unlock new characters. The Complete Edition will also have new Watanabe Mode tracks, new Photo Mode stamps, new New Game+ cosmetics, and, of course, new trophies.

On October 1, Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition arrives on PS5 with a new narrative expansion, a new single-player combat survival mode, and additional updates for Ghost of Yōtei.*
Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara is a new narrative expansion split between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. Players will meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past, and explore a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and his loyal followers, the Vipers. The expansion introduces new enemies, new heavy weapons, new armor sets, new dyes, and more.
Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is a new single-player combat survival mode where players will accept bounties to begin new runs, taking down enemies to earn perks and unlock additional playable characters. Each character brings a different combat specialty, including Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with the kusarigama, and Nagato with a yari.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will be available to purchase for $69.99. The Complete Edition includes the main Ghost of Yōtei game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends online co-op mode, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, all in-game content previously included in the Digital Deluxe Edition, and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Players who purchase the Complete Edition can immediately begin playing the main game and Legends, with Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted arriving on October 1.**
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will also introduce new Watanabe Mode tracks available throughout the game, new Photo Mode stamps, additional New Game+ cosmetics, and new Trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.
Existing Ghost of Yōtei owners can access Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted by pre-purchasing the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99. Players who pre-order by September 30 will also receive an early unlock of the Sakai Armor on October 1, inspired by Jin’s family armor from Ghost of Tsushima.*
Additionally, all Ghost of Yōtei owners will receive a free patch on October 1 featuring the new Beauty of Yōtei mode, which offers a screensaver-like view of Ezo’s environments, along with quality-of-life updates including the ability to retain one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats and a new high contrast accessibility option.
