We’ve really gone from trade shows to publisher directs to now…streaming platform debuts. Rockstar Games tends to march to the beat of their own drum and it seems the creators of the Grand Theft Auto series are looking to lead the way on a brand new method of promotion.
On August 27th at 3pm EST/12pm PST, players can finally see Grand Theft Auto VI in action…on Netflix. That’s right, next to your algorithm recommendations of your binge viewing favorites will be Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. While we don’t know how long this extended look will last, this will hopefully be the most comprehensive look we will get of this much anticipated upcoming entry of this mega franchise.
However for those who somehow don’t have a Netflix account for whatever reason (I won’t judge), the extended look will be available on the Rockstar Games Youtube channel and the GTA VI website six hours later. So you’re just gonna miss out on the current zeitgeist for just a little bit.
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 15th, 2026…heaven help the games that will be caught in that blast radius.
