As a little bit of a story teaser for the upcoming goodness, the main story continues as representatives of New Erudu’s major factions arrive on the island one after another. The Proxies will be reuniting with an old friend: Truvia. A past incident drove them apart, leaving a scar in Pyrois’ memory that never fully healed. Meanwhile, Lindverne Sunbringer, Administrative Director of the Airspace Patrol Department, and her Deputy Director Sigrid formally meet the Proxies for the first time. Lindverne’s carefree demeanor and the legends surrounding Sigrid will all come to light after this encounter. Elsewhere, a powerful new Void Hunter, Remielle Dan, who remains hidden away in an En-Nah Gang hideout, returns to the spotlight, and the Enchainer she previously mentioned, an entity far more powerful than anyone could imagine, will gradually come into focus as the story unfolds.
Following that statement about Remielle, she now joins the fray as a playable S-Rank Anomaly Luminflux Agent for Proxies to use to further boost their Anomaly teams’ damage. Her unique element “Flux” mechanism synchronizes her damage output’s attribute with the attribute of the next Agent in the squad, allowing players to configure different teammates based on the enemy’s weaknesses to charge her output attribute. She works especially well with other Anomaly agents like Velina, Burnice, Miyabi, Jane, and others.
In combat, Remielle can accumulate resources to enter the “Phase Flow” state, continuously providing buffs to the whole squad without occupying field time, and when resources are fully charged, she descends to trigger a powerful Assist Attack. Being an off-field centric damage dealer and support means she won’t take a bunch of time away from your designated on-field carry, making her a valuable asset for anybody that likes their Anomaly units. The Lumiflux-exclusive reaction Refringe converts Anomaly Buildup into a high-burst final explosion. Additionally, Remielle’s Signal Search channel will remain available for the entirety of Version 3.1’s duration.
While Remielle lasts the entire duration, the other new Agent to look forward to brings in the back half of the patch. The S-Rank Ice Attack Agent Sigrid will make her debut in the second half of this version. Her core gameplay revolves around the Aerial Patrol Spear Form. Whenever an Unbridled Spear hits an enemy, she will enter the Aerial Patrol Spear Form, granting Sigrid the opportunity to hold Basic Attack to launch alternative attacks while also significantly boosting her Crit Rate for a period of time. This should help you build her with a bit more Crit DMG or ATK substats seeing as she’ll generate some of her own Rate. Thus, the smoother the output rhythm, the higher her DMG dealt.
For reruns, S-Rank Ether Anomaly Agent Aria of the Angels of Delusion makes her return in the first half. The second half will feature the Exclusive Rescreening channel, where Proxies can pull on a triple-banner for three different characters. These S-Rank Agent options include Dyalin, an excellent Physical Stun agent, Yuzuha, an almost must-have Physical Anomaly Agent for those teams, and Harumasa the Electric Attack S-Rank agent. You can also select one of their W-Engines in the W-Engine Reverberation channel if you would like to pick up their signature W-Engines. Last but not least, the new S-Rank Bangboo Ariel will debut her angelic form in this new version.
Version 3.1 brings even more goodies alongside it, including a brand-new permanent mode called “Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel”. Players will be entering stages to procure supplies and enhance their strength, then safely evacuate within the time limit once they’ve secured enough valuable loot. Collected supplies can be invested into the research station’s infrastructure to further bolster its capabilities. It shares weekly progress with Hollow Zero, with exclusive rewards each season.
As for limited-time events, the Fantasy Resort summer event “Summer Waves Roll In” launches alongside all this other content. Proxies can join Lucy, Sigrid, and Remielle for beachcombing adventures and souvenir shop management. Complete the main storyline for this event and you can receive Lucy’s new summer outfit for free. There will be more outfits releasing this update alongside Lucy’s, with those being Vivian’s summer outfit Iris of the Shore, Sigrid’s summer outfit “Majestic Wavechaser”, and Remielle’s summer outfit “Seashade Pas Seul” and evening gown outfit “Moonlight Whispers” (featuring both a veiled and unveiled form) in the shop. Remielle’s outfits are also available together as a bundle with a 30% discount.
Don’t think we’re done just yet with all of these new goodies, either, because Version 3.1 brings a whole bunch of system optimizations and new additions to those existing systems. Version 3.1 is introducing the Custom Search mechanism: Proxies will be able to pre-designate 6 S-Rank Agents from a pool of both limited and standard S-Rank Agents. When you lose the 50/50, you’ll have a chance of acquiring Agents from the “Standard” selection of Agents, and these now include previously limited-exclusive characters. The corresponding W-Engine channel and A-Rank Signals will also support these new customization options. These new additions will remain long-term and can be modified whenever you please.
Following that is the replacement of the Proxy’s Trial. This previous system will be replaced by the new Beginner’s Guide, and this aims to provide better growth guidance, including teambuilding recommendations, enhancement progression, and built-in dedicated interfaces for level-up guidance as well as Polychrome acquisition guidance based on the player’s current Inter-Knot level. HoYoverse has also sped up the leveling process for Inter-Knot levels 20-50 allowing Proxies to unlock further Agent build capabilities at a faster rate than before.
As for the ever-exciting Zenless Zone Zero anniversary rewards, all Proxies can freely select one of five limited S-Rank Agents: Jane, Soldier 0 – Anby, Trigger, Hugo, or Lucia, and also their corresponding signature W-Engines exclusively during the Version 3.1 2nd anniversary celebration. Pyrois’ latest Mindscape and corresponding W-Engine overclocking materials will also be distributed during this period. The log-in rewards for this version will include 1,600 Polychrome and 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, totaling a nice 20 pulls for Proxies to throw at Remielle Dan, Sigrid, or any of the returning Agents.
Version 3.1 of Zenless Zone Zero is scheduled for release on July 29th. 2026. You can play Zenless Zone Zero on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via HoYoPlay and Steam, iOS, and Android. Additionally, July 29th will mark the release of the Xbox PC release of ZZZ, enabling crossplay between Xbox and PC within the Xbox ecosystem. Xbox Game Pass subscription holders will receive a limited-time boost as well.
