For long time fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion, you’d know the anime series has had a longtime relationship with video game publisher SEGA. The then hardware manufacturer was a sponsor of the show when it had its initial airing and the company also developed and published several Evangelion titles for the SEGA Saturn.
Well it seems the saying “if you love something set it free, if it comes back it was meant to be” definitely holds true as SEGA revealed that as part of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ Year Two DLC lineup, Japanese pop culture icons Evangelion as well as Godzilla will be joining the line up of the six planned DLC packs. The teaser we got showed us that the King of All Monsters, EVA Unit 01 will make an appearance in a set of brand new tracks as well as Rei Ayanami, an “Asuka” (you really can’t tell if it’s the one from the original or the rebuild series) in EVA inspired racers. They will join the TMNT and Avatar: The Last Airbender as these packs will close out Year One.
The Summer Games Fest Trailer also revealed a Sonic the hedgehog themed version of the puzzle title Pico Park dubbed, well…Sonic Pico Park.
Sonic Racing Crossworlds is available now on PC and consoles and Sonic Pico Park will be available on PC and additional platforms with an unannounced release date.
