Another food brand has entered the EVO Arena! As Airheads offers competitors something sweet to wash out the bitter taste of defeat!

I’m not going to lie, while some see the presence of brands like Chipotle sponsoring the EVO Championship Series as the continued degradation of the tournament’s grassroots feel, I am in the opposite camp. These sponsorships show that the Fighting Game Community is a space worth investing in and Chipotle certainly have leaned in with their ads which feature prominent members of the community such as Sajam, Justin Wong and YipeS. So with the news of Airheads declaring that they will have a presence at EVO Las Vegas, all I can say is…Sweet!

Take place from the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 26th to the 28th, Attendees will be greeted by the brand’s street team and will be offered free samples of the treats. The brand will also have a presence on the show floor with the Airheads Air Cam which promises to “capture some of the biggest moments from the tournament floor” and a lot of bald spots (I’m putting on a hat if I hear the Air Cam approaching).

So let’s hope this trend will continue as one day I’d like to see a “brands only” Street Fighter Tournament during EVO until then make sure you wave to the Airheads Air Cam and grab some candy from the Airheads street team this weekend!
