Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 finally comes to consoles on May 27th

Mob Entertainment’s Poppy Playtime is a juggernaut in the kid-friendly indie horror game space these days, and while we had some interesting thoughts on Chapter 5 when it hit the PC a few months ago, we do know that it’s quite popular for a specific audience, so a console release we’re sure will also do quite well.

Finally scheduled to release on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and Switch on May 27th, Chapter 5 is most definitely not the end of the series (apparently?), and this last gen and current gen console release should open it up to a lot of additional players, regardless of what our opinion of the latest release was.

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 – On Consoles May 27, 2026!

Following an explosive, record-breaking launch on PC in February, Mob Entertainment is delighted to announce Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 – Broken Things will launch on consoles on May 27, 2026, bringing the latest chapter of the hit horror franchise to even more players around the world.

For players on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox platforms, the launch marks a highly anticipated re-entry into the depths of Playtime Co., where they can descend deeper into Playtime Co. and uncover the secrets and new faces waiting within.

“We’re excited to finally bring Chapter 5 to console players,” said George Krstic, Senior Director of Creative at Mob Entertainment. “This chapter pushed us creatively in a lot of ways, both narratively and atmospherically, and we can’t wait for a whole new audience to experience what’s waiting inside the factory.”

In Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 — Broken Things, players will face off against the maniacal puppetmaster behind the horrifying events of Playtime Co’s dark past. Solve devious puzzles, survive deadly encounters, and overcome dangerous obstacles as the true rotten heart at the center of Playtime Co. draws nearer. Traverse this new realm of shadows in a fight for survival (and the truth) with Playtime’s security system, Huggy Wuggy, in hot pursuit and separated from your only allies. Will you finally end this nightmare, or fall victim to The Prototype’s twisted madness?
