Swing for the fences as Playground Productions releases a Steam demo for their upcoming title Backyard Baseball

If you didn’t make it out to Boston in late March of this year for PAX East, you missed out an opportunity to get hands on with the brand new Backyard Baseball game. Con attendees were able to participate in a homerun derby, where they were given 2 minutes and then 3 outs to smack as many dingers as they could. The team at Playground Productions and Mega Cat Studios received plenty of positive feedback from the attendees, so much so that they decided to release the demo on PC/Mac for all to check out (You’re welcome?)!

Head over to Steam and grab the demo where you can choose from Pablo (absolutely not Pedro) Sanchez, Kiesha Phillips or Kenny Kawaguchi and hit some dingers. Since you don’t have to worry about other attendees waiting to get their turn, you can experience the Backyard Derby as long as you like and even tweak the game’s settings. If regular pitches are passé, check out crazy pitches, if you want to see who is the dominant batter of the household, try co-op play, finally if you’re feeling confident check out the leaderboards to see where your performance ranks!

The full game promises a roster of 30 kids, full games and even a league mode. You won’t have to wait too long to step up to the plate as Backyard Baseball will be occupying your summer vacation and beyond when it releases on PC, Switch 2, the Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
