Guilty Gear -STRIVE- enters 2.0 as Jam Kuradoberi returns to the roster!

Guilty Gear -STRIVE-‘s momentum cannot be contained, the game just saw a new champion crowned at the ARC World Tour 2025-2026 and today the game is kicking off the next phase as the 2.0 update is released.

This update will see plenty of cosmetic and gameplay changes not including a brand new main menu, the adjustment of character accessories in certain modes, the removal of the “Wild Assault” mechanic and the introduction of the “Counter Blitz” mechanic. A full rundown of the changes can be found on this news post on the Guilty Gear Website.

Coinciding with the launch of Version 2.0, the 5th season of Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is also kicking off with the release of Jam Kuradoberi. This series veteran can pressure her opponents with mix ups, easily close the distance and amplify her special attacks for additional damage. If you want to learn more about the character, Arc System Works has released a starter guide for the character which can be viewed below.

In addition to Jam, Season 5 owners can also throw down on the stage Cradled by the Four Beasts which the company describes as the following:

“Cradled by the Four Beasts depicts a town watched over by the four holy beasts. People live a life supported by abundant water and harvests, with the weather and sunlight regulated by magic.”

Jam and this stage are available for no extra charge for players who own the GGST Season Pass 5 which costs $24.99. Jam can be purchased individually for $6.99. The next character to be released will be someone who has already had a presence as a supporting character for Venom. However in Summer of 2026, Robo-ky will be his own ma…robot as he returns to the roster with a brand new body!

If you haven’t checked out the latest iteration of this beloved fighting franchise you are in luck, as Arc System Works is offering a discount on the digital only SKU called Guilty Gear -Strive- 2.0 Starter Edition.
