Cyberpunk 2077 pushes the PS5 Pro to its limits in today’s free update

We certainly appreciate the effort by CD PROJEKT RED to whip up a free PS5 Pro update for Cyberpunk 2077, but all we have to say is… it’s about darn time!  But seriously, the new patch has dropped today and features smoother performance, higher visual fidelity, PSSR support and expanded ray tracing features for those who have access to a now, even more pricey PlayStation 5 Pro.

Those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus (Extra and Premium members) also get the game for free, including of course the now-patched PS5 Pro version.

Have a look at the PS5 Pro Update trailer and Digital Foundry’s very in-depth video review below!

Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro Review: All New Modes & Features Tested!

CD PROJEKT RED announces that its best-selling open-world role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 received a free update for the PlayStation 5 Pro console today.

The free update also contains three graphics modes for players to choose from. Performance Mode delivers the highest possible frame rate for those who prioritize fast, fluid gameplay, while Ray Tracing Pro delivers the full range of available ray tracing enhancements. Striking a middle ground between the two other modes, Ray Tracing offers a balance between visuals and performance. The full list of features can be found in the recently published patch notes.

Since July, Cyberpunk 2077 has been available to play for free through the PlayStation Plus Catalog for Extra and Premium members, and now those playing on PlayStation 5 Pro will be able to see the new update in action for themselves. Ahead of the release, Digital Foundry also tested the PS5 Pro Update; their impressions and in-depth analysis are already available.
