Nintendo Switch Online app is now available for iOS, Android devices

As promised, Nintendo has rolled out the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app in advance of the Splatoon 2 launch. Why do you need this app? Well if you want to voice chat with other Splatoon 2 players on the Switch, or invite friends, or get access to some exclusive services or features such as SplatNet 2, etc.

Of course the servers are not fully live yet, but you can still pre-install the app on your Android or iOS devices by following the links below.

We’re definitely interested in seeing how this solution works when Splatoon 2 launches, but based on some of Nintendo’s own documentation for the (currently free) app and service, we’re not so sure what to think.
