Project Rap Rabbit in development for PS4

It was revealed today, via the PS Blog, that  Masaya Matsuura/NanaOn-Sha (creators of PaRappa), and Keiichi Yano/iNiS (creators of Gitaroo Man) are hard at work on Project Rap Rabbit, a brand new rhythm adventure game for the PS4.  Awesome news!

Slightly less awesome news is that the game will go through a Kickstarter campaign to raise funding and gauge interest in the title before it’s 100% greenlit.  It’s in the early stages of development, and is being described as “rhythm-action 2.0” — basically an evolution of the classic formula that has withstood the test of time.

The visual style is certainly attractive, that’s for sure, so we have no doubt that it’ll be funded at one point.  As of 2:24pm EST on 5/15/2017, the campaign has reached $53,814 of its $1,102,921 goal… with 35 days left to go. Even though the all-or nothing Kickstarter is for a PS4 game, stretch goals include Xbox One and Switch versions as well.
