Download classic Xbox 360 JRPG Lost Odyssey for free

Remember Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360? Two of the very early JRPG releases for the console  way back when?

Well, they are now playable on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility, which is pretty awesome. But wait, that’s not the big news. The big news is that Lost Odyssey will be 100% free to download for a limited time, on the Xbox 360 or Xbox One, from now through December 31st. That’s a pretty great perk to celebrate the first anniversary of the backwards compatibility feature on the Xbox One.

Head on over to the Xbox Games Store to grab a copy right now!

See the details and original announcement at the Xbox Wire and below.

In celebration of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog exceeding 300 games, we have a very special gift to all our Xbox fans. For a limited time, you can download the classic Xbox 360 role playing game Lost Odyssey for free. Yes, for free! Play it now on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility.

Relive the journey of Kaim, a mysterious immortal warrior, as he embarks on an epic adventure of self-discovery. Now this epic RPG is yours to enjoy as our small way of saying thank you for being a fan of Xbox.

Originally released in 2008 for the Xbox 360 in North America, Lost Odyssey was developed by Mistwalker, a legendary game studio made up of many icons in gaming including the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Other talents who contributed to Lost Odyssey included the legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu and author Kiyoshi Shigematsu.

The free digital copy of Lost Odyssey must be redeemed by December 31, 2016 (not valid in Turkey, Israel, and China). We hope you enjoy this small token of appreciation during the holiday season and we can?t wait for what?s in store for 2017!
