Red Dead Redemption gets backwards compatible on Xbox One this week

Rockstar Games today confirmed that one of its other beloved open world adventure titles, Red Dead Redemption, will finally be making its way onto the Xbox One as a fully backwards compatible Xbox 360 game. The even better news is that the Undead Nightmare standalone expansion and the GotY Edition will also be supported, both on disc and digitally, beginning this Friday, July 8th.

Is this a hint that R* will finally announce that they are working on a new Red Dead title? (hopefully?)

See the announcement below.

Starting on Friday, every Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 owner will be able to play the game directly on their Xbox One, regardless of which version of the game they own (Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition). And for those who have yet to experience it, the game will be available to purchase on Friday from the Games Store on Xbox One.
