Bandai Namco and From Software sent over some gorgeous and atmospheric new screens of Dark Souls III this morning.

In this new batch we see some familiar and new characters doing things and staring off into the distance — probably contemplating how many times they expect to see “You Died” throughout their dangerous new adventure.

Take a look at the new assets below. Dark Souls III will be available on April 12th, 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Dark Souls III screens:

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. has released new screen shots and art for DARK SOULS III, the highly anticipated latest installment of the critically acclaimed Dark Souls series from Japanese developer FROMSOFTWARE. DARK SOULS III serves up its trademark sword and sorcery combat as players travel across a wide variety of locations in an interconnected world full of unrelenting challenge and rewarding action-RPG gameplay.

The new screen shots reveal key locations and characters both new and familiar to fans of the series. As they being the game, players will find themselves revived in the Untended Graves as an ?Unkindled? and will have to face the mighty Iudex Gundyr as a test to prove their worth before heading into Firelink Shrine. In the shrine they will find a Fire Keeper tending to a bonfire who will serve players on their long and arduous journey. Players will find other characters inhabiting the shrine including Hawkwood, an Unkindled and fugitive from Farron?s Undead Legion, along with a peculiar looking man sitting on one of the thrones in the shrine calling himself Ludleth of Courland and a Lord of Cinder. From Firelink Shrine players will begin a dark and brooding fantasy adventure across the vast and twisted world of DARK SOULS III.
