Kojima-directed Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launch trailer is live

Konami this morning released a brand new, Hideo Kojima-created Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launch trailer.

The 5 minute long trailer is as dramatic as you’d expect from the Metal Gear Solid franchise (and Hideo Kojima), so make sure to set aside some time to check it out.  The first half of the trailer takes MGS fans down memory lane of sorts, with the latter half showing off all new MGSV footage.

The company also fleshed out the features for the game’s companion app which is set to launch alongside the game.  The new app functions much like the once released for Ground Zeroes, and lets players connect to the game (PS4, Xbox One, PS3 only) to show a real time, second screen, in-game map.  The app can also play back records and music that are obtained within the game.

Take a look at the trailer below.
