Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival announced for Wii U this year

A surprise reveal from Nintendo during the Digital Event was this Animal Crossing party game spin-off, Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival. As the name implies, a new set of amiibo were also showcased, featuring Animal Crossing characters like Tom Nook, K.K. Slider, and more.

You can use those amiibo in-game to control characters across various board games themed around the seasons featured in all Animal Crossing games. Compete in mini-games, and attempt to make your character the most happy out of all players at the end in order to win.

It’s a unique spin on Animal Crossing to be sure, and I’m curious to see how this turns out. Check out the trailer and screens below. Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival has a tentative release date of this holiday season.
