Say what you will about Activision, but they really know how to market and sell their games. As they were originally expecting, the company has a trio of titles that pretty much dominated the console software space for all of 2014.
Officially, for 2014, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the top-selling console in the U.S. and the world, and the top franchise in the U.S. for the sixth straight year. Destiny is the “biggest new video game franchise launch in history”, the #2 title in the U.S. and the top selling new IP for the year. Skylanders Trap Team is the #1 kids game, worldwide, for the 3rd year in a row thanks to the game, figures and accessories.
Of course some of these figures refer to retail sell through and others revenue, but the company clearly still has what it takes to top the charts consistently.

In addition to these wins, Destiny, the epic new game from Activision and Bungie, is the #2 top-selling console game among all titles in the U.S. in 2014, based on revenue.2 Destiny is also the top-selling new video game IP of the year and had the biggest launch of a new video game franchise in history.1And Skylanders continued to lead the ?Toys to Life? category for the third consecutive year.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is developed by Sledgehammer Games for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and PC, and is available via direct digital download. A current gen version for Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system is also available. The title is rated M for Mature with Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence and Strong Language.
