The Last of Us Remastered includes 30fps lock; New screens released

With only around 2 weeks before the launch of Naughty Dog’s enhanced PS4 release of their award-winning The Last of Us, Sony and Naughty Dog have finally addressed the whole “60fps or not” debate.

According to this morning’s PS Blog post, the game runs at 1080p/60fps, but Naughty Dog is also offering the option to lock it down at 30fps. Reasons for this option? Either the game runs at an unlocked framerate which will indeed achieve 50-60fps most of the time (like inFamous: Second Son possibly), or just to appease gamers who prefer the “cinematic” look of an unwavering 30fps. So if you were concerned,  there ya go.

They also dropped off a few gorgeous new screens showing off the extra crisp textures and effects.

The Last of Us Remastered is scheduled for a July 29th release and will be available for $49.99.
