Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today released a new development diary video that gives viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the role that Dracula plays in its highly anticipated Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

The new video takes consumers on a journey into the creative minds of Dave Cox, Producer and Studio Head for Konami Digital Entertainment BV’s European Production, and Enric Alvarez, Studio Head of Development at Mercury Steam.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 marks the first appearance of the iconic character in the series’ universe. Within the diary, Cox and Alvarez discuss their decision to use the world’s most famous vampire as its central figure and delve into details about the design choices they faced, how they addressed the look, feel, and motivation of the iconic character, and the affect he has on the overall story. The pair also discuss how award-winning voice actor Robert Carlyle helped enhance the character, and pay homage to each of their favorite Dracula movies.

KONAMI is also calling for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow fans to submit questions for future developer videos via twitter (@Konami). These will be answered by Dave and Enric in the months running up to the game’s release.
