PS3 firmware v4.50 features Trophy privacy, auto download for all, and more

With the PS4 coming in less than 2 months, who would have figured that Sony would continue to roll out new PS3 system software enhancements?

With PS3 System Software v4.50 releasing later today they have done just that, and believe or or not, it’s not just a security update. All users, not just PS Plus members, will have access to the super-useful auto download functionality, and the much-requested ability to hide certain Trophies will be available. Data transfers between the PS3 and PS Vita also quite a whole lot easier too.

PS3 System Software Update (v4.50) changes

  • Auto download of system software updates has been expanded to support all PSN users.
  • Auto download support of purchases made on the Sony will be made available to all PSN users.
  • New options for trophy privacy settings allow users to set which trophies are visible.
  • Data can now be transferred from PS3 to PS Vita using Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection.
