Arc System Works reveal that 4 Million players has experienced Guilty Gear -STRIVE-

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is the most popular entry of Arc System Works’ long running Guilty Gear franchise. Originally released in 2021, the title is now available across seven platforms and seen five seasons of content which has released 18 characters, numerous stages, characters color palettes and even story mode. The publisher revealed on the eve of the biggest fighting game tournament EVO 2026 that the title has amassed over 4 million players worldwide. The counting methodology is based on the total number of users across Guilty Gear -STRIVE- as well as Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Nintendo Switch Edition.

To commemorate this milestone, the company has revealed a brand new piece of art work created by Shoichi Kitazono, a member of the Guilty Gear Development Team. Personally it’s great to see the community support a company that is such a pillar in the fighting game genre. Besides being able to see the company’s signature title thrive, seeing the company being tapped to handle massive IPs such as Dragon Ball (Dragon Ball Fighter Z) and soon the Marvel Universe (MARVEL Tokon Fighting Souls) gives me hope that the company will reach the half century mark (The company’s most recent publicly celebrated anniversary was its 35th anniversary which took place in 2023).

Just because the title hit this player milestone doesn’t mean the Guilty Gear -STRIVE- team is ready to stop and move on. The team is currently developing content for season 5 of Guilty Gear, which will add Robo Ky and two as of unannounced characters. The team also kicked off the inaugural Blazing Pass which rewards players for continued play.

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is available on PC, the Xbox and PlayStation platforms, it is also available on the Nintendo Switch as Guilty Gear -STRIVE- Nintendo Switch Edition.
