The opening sequence for 007 First Light is revealed and it’s definitely a James Bond title sequence

Late last week IO Interactive released the audio version of the song which will open their upcoming title 007 First Light featuring Lana Del Rey and frequent Bond composer David Arnold. The studio promised that the complete opening sequence will be showcased today and the studio did deliver.

The clip, which clocks in at roughly three minutes and seventeen seconds features almost all the visual cues you expect from an opening sequence from a bond project. Plenty of silhouettes, both of Bond as well as sultry women dancing, explosions, bullets firing, the only thing that is missing is the shot of Bond killing an assailant who has him in his sights (Although towards the 2 one minute fifty second mark, Bond does a quick turn and fire which can invoke that iconic image). Frankly if you adjust some of the credits, you could probably show this to someone and claim that it’s the opening sequence to the next Bong movie.

In addition to the reveal of the First Light opening sequence, IO Interactive also released a 4th episode of their behind the scenes series Beyond the Light where Missions and Audio Director Dominic Vega revealed what were the thoughts behind creating the music and sounds of 007 First Light. Like all the other episodes in the series, this one sheds a lot of light on what goes into creating the video games we all enjoy.

007 First Light will release on May 27th on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. All copies of the title will include the contents of the deluxe edition with digital pre-orders getting access to the title 24 hours before physical purchasers.
