To get started, Shigeru Miyamoto popped in to deliver news in regards to the Legend of Zelda live action movie. The title, if you can believe it, is “The Legend of Zelda”. According to Miyamoto-san, the movie is slated for release on April 30th, 2027. It’s a theatre-exclusive release, so you’ll be seated with snacks for the big screen just like the Mario movie. Apparently there’s a reason there’s no subtitle but we’ll have to watch the film to find out.
After the movie, the big reveals included an announcement of an exclusive Nintendo Museum ticket themed after Zelda’s 40th anniversary as well as a worldwide orchestra full of the franchise’s iconic music.
Additionally, there’s going to be a new Ocarina of Time themed LEGO set, a Zelda themed “HUZZLE”, two Ocarina you can actually play (one being a real Ocarina, the 2nd being electronic), and new figures. There is also an electronic Master Sword, although as for what that entails only time will tell.
The concerts will begin in Japan this January and make their way. worldwide soon after. North America begins on February 22nd in Chicago, Europe on April 3rd in London, and Australia on May 13th in Melbourne. Ticket sales begin later this month with more cities and countries to be added.
The big reveal everyone is excited for is the full reveal of and in-depth look at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Boasting a whole new look, new gameplay changes, and more, it’s a complete change from the game that defined 3D adventure games back in 1998. Opinions will certainly vary on the changes, but no matter how you feel about it, Nintendo truly has reinvented the N64 classic.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Mr. Aonuma Gameplay Demonstration
Some of the changes Aonuma-san was showing off to viewers included voice acting, a jump button, the horizontal scrolling menu from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and much more. Not only is there all of that, but there’s also a new “Threads of Time” feature. Think of this like a recollection of the things you’ve done with a little hint and direction towards where you’re going next. It’s worth watching the new trailer to get a good view of everything being added or changed with this new game.
Nintendo says that there will be more things coming out in celebration of Zelda’s 40th anniversary throughout the next year and to stay tuned to keep up with these announcements. Not only is the game itself releasing on November 5th, 2026, but there is a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 console and Pro Controller dropping a couple weeks prior.
Both devices feature a Triforce themed design with some gold and green accents. With all of this Zelda, there’s certainly something for someone, and that’s not including any upcoming announcements yet to be made.
