To commemorate this announcement the publisher released a 10 minute video which details the changes to this port which includes a brand new localization and voice cast, all the playable characters available from the jump and other improvements. We also learned more about the physical editions of the game. Available on the Marvelous USA Store and select retailers, Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 owners can secure physical editions in both a standard and limited SKU. The limited edition will pack in extras such as a 120 page art book, a CD featuring a selection of the game’s soundtrack and a 10”x14” tabletop byōbu folding screen. The standard edition will retail for $49.99 (PS5) and $59.99 (NSW2), the limited edition will retail for $89.99 (PS5) and $99.99 (NSW2). Hopefully with the slight upcharge we will be getting the game on the cartridge rather than the much derided game-key card.
Regardless it is great to see such a Vanillaware classic being given another chance to reach a wider audience. Muramasa: Revenant Blades will release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 on February, 4th 2027.
