The Crazy Taxi twitter might’ve buried the lede, but at gamescom Opening Night Live the game offered a trailer in which the other cabbies from the original Crazy Taxi were confirmed to be present in the upcoming Crazy Taxi: World Tour. That’s right, BD Joe, Gena and Gus will be joining Axel as they try to eke out a living ferrying denizens to their requested destinations.
Audibly accompanying the clip is Bad Religion’s “Ten in 2010”, a song which was featured in the original arcade title. Not only that we will also get the band’s songs “Them and Us” and “Inner Logic” as well as songs from The Offspring, another band with ties to the franchise!
A very noticeable feature of this trailer was the fact that there were multiple player controlled cars cruising the streets and SEGA wants your help in making sure the experience is as smooth as possible with their Multiplayer Network Test. Prospective cabbies can sign up at the game’s website, but don’t dawdle as sign ups are set to close on August 31st. Once you’re in you’ll be driving against other players in multiplayer action from September 11th to the 13th.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour will turn on it’s fare light in 2027 when it cruises onto PC and consoles.
