Niantic celebrates 10 years of Pokémon Go with a special livestream set to air on July 9th

June 6th, 2016 players in the US, Australia and New Zealand embarked on a new Pokémon journey. As the days passed the rest of the world had to make a decision which of the three teams they would join as they would travel the real world to collect Pokémon in Niantic Lab’s augmented reality title, Pokémon Go.

Now 10 years in, the game has constantly grown, pivoted when the pandemic struck and is now offering creatures from regions such as Johto, Unova, Kalos, Alola and more. The title has hosted in person events dubbed Go Fests which will entice trainers to enjoy the title together and offer opportunities to capture exclusive Pokémon. The game’s momentum refuses to be halted.

Niantic is looking to celebrate this milestone with a livestream set to go live on July 9th. During that day, the company will announce via the title’s social media accounts (Facebook, X) when and where players can view this livestream. Notable Pokémon Go content creators have been invited to livestream to help celebrate the title’s 10th anniversary. It will certainly be interesting to see what is next for the game, so I would recommend you pay close attention to Pokémon Go social media this Thursday!

Pokémon Go is available now on iOS and Android.

Save the date! In celebration of the 10th anniversary, Pokémon GO is hosting a special anniversary broadcast on July 9.

Trainers from around the world including those who were among the first to experience the game in 2016, longtime players who have been catching Pokémon for the past decade and those who are just beginning their adventure, are invited to tune in and celebrate together.

Additional details on where to watch and when to tune in will be shared via Pokémon GO social channels (Facebook, X) on July 9. Throughout the day, several notable content creators will also be going live to join in on the festivities.
